“The present convergence of crises––in money, energy, education, health, water, soil, climate, politics, the environment, and more–– is a birth crisis, expelling us from the old world into a new.” ― Charles Eisenstein
Today’s emerging adults are calling out for the inspiration and skill to follow their deepest longing and to create a future that works for us all. They crave a meaningful life and a livelihood that nourishes rather than despoils the earth. The IRL’s programs are aimed at meeting that longing in a comprehensive way.
Many of those reaching retirement age (boomers) have gifts and experience of untold value to society’s future. As they take up the mantle of becoming wise elders, they remain committed to offering their talents for a greater purpose. Large numbers of them would delight in sharing their experience with young people and in joining with them to co-create a community of “regenerative learners” and 21st century “solutionaries”.

Weaving together past and future to generate comprehensive solutions
IRL bridges the generations in a direct and
heartfelt way, integrating cutting edge knowledge with ancient wisdom in a practical setting to offer a comprehensive response to the personal and planetary needs of our time.
Redressing the loss of talent and creativity
The programs of the Institute for Re-Generative Learning (IRL)
support both of these important demographics. In the process IRL addresses two significant social issues within the framework of a growing social movement.
The first problem is the talent drain from the loss of productive outlets available to our elders, with 10,000 boomers leaving the workforce every day, and the high cost of health care for seniors not engaged in meaningful activities and relationships.
The second is the economic cost, social waste, disillusionment and loss of enthusiasm when our younger generation (millennials) does not have the support or skill to creatively transition into adulthood and the workforce. We see this when close to half of the 1.75 million college graduates return home to live or take unsatisfying internships amidst concerns for their future.
