saving the planet

considered himself the first Eco-logian, bringing together a deep love of the earth with the ways we make sense of life. More than 50 years ago he foresaw the dilemma we face on the earth, and offered profound insight into its roots and a pointed to a path forward. His insight integrates the way we make meaning in western culture with a scientific understanding of the unfolding universe and the ecology of the earth.  

John McMillin

was 15 in 1945 when his scientist father discovered that by feeding survivors of the Holocaust a slurry of vegetable juice and raw fish that would recover their strength in a short time. That set John on his life purpose of feeding people in the most dire circumstances. He played a key role in ending the Ethiopian famines in the 1980's, and inspired this initiative when he introduced us to the premises of ReGenerative Science.

Mondragon
cooperative enterprise

grew from a single worker owned cooperative in 1956, to a series of interrelated companies that today employ some 80,000 members.  Centered in the Basque region it continues to succeed despite Spain's economic challenges. It is the most successful example of a long running (since 1956) commercial enterprise that honors labor as well as capital and sees human welfare as the priority.
